From last-minute pitch to game-changing deal
After a year of traveling across South America and Europe, I unexpectedly landed a job interview in London with a boutique agency, where I helped craft a creative pitch for Castrol’s partnership with UEFA. The challenge? There was no clear theme to connect Castrol’s motor oil with UEFA’s football, making the concept feel disconnected. I proposed “High-Performance”, from Castrol’s branding, as a unifying theme. The team quickly embraced it, and with tight deadlines, we hired an illustrator to develop petrol station point-of-sale concepts, offering exclusive prizes. Despite using outdated boards, the concept resonated with UEFA and Castrol, securing the sponsorship deal and earning the Sponsorship Holliness Award, a key milestone in sports marketing.
